Who We Are
In 1987, after working her way through school as a floral designer and
obtaining a BS in Botany, Julia Brizendine started her own business doing
garden design and maintenance. Julia named her business Valley Plant Care.
She apprenticed under Lynn R. Batdorf* who said:
”When asked to refer firms for expert boxwood renovation or maintenance
in the northern VA area, I unequivocally recommend Julia Jansen
(now Julia Brizendine) of Valley Plant Care, who I have professionally trained.“
After years of studying the construction end of the business, she obtained
her Basic Contractor licensing certificate. As her business grew and the
focus shifted toward construction design and implementation, she renamed
‘Valley Plant Care’ to ‘VPC Landscape Construction’ and it has been
known by that name ever since.

Our Staff
The staff at VPC are all professionals in their field and our key staff
members have been working together for over 8 years. Our stone masons are
true craftsmen, each with a minimum 10 years of experience. We truly believe
that we have one of the finest staffs available in the field of
landscape construction in this or any area.
